Privacy policy for RedirectGuard, a Shopify app published by effective Inc. (株式会社effective).

This Privacy Policy explains how RedirectGuard, a Shopify app published by effective Inc. (株式会社effective) (“we”, “us”, “the app”), collects, uses, and protects information when you install and use it on your Shopify store.

1. Who this applies to

RedirectGuard is a tool for Shopify merchants. We process data belonging to the merchant and their store. RedirectGuard does not collect names, emails, addresses, payment details, or other personal identifiers of your store’s customers (shoppers).

2. What we collect

a. Store & account data (from the Shopify API, with your consent at install)

  • Store domain and shop ID
  • Store owner / contact email (provided by Shopify)
  • The resource data RedirectGuard needs to function, via the Shopify scopes read_products, read_content, read_online_store_navigation, write_online_store_navigation, read_themes

b. App-generated data

  • Broken-link (404) hit logs — the broken URL path, the referrer URL (if present), the user-agent string, and a timestamp. We do not store IP addresses, cookies, or device identifiers.
  • Detected product/collection deletions, the redirect rules you configure, and event logs needed to provide the app’s features.

c. Optional settings you provide If you enable the weekly email report (Pro), we store the recipient email address you provide and a verification status. Used only to operate the feature you enabled; never for marketing.

3. How we use it

  • Provide RedirectGuard’s features as described in its Shopify App Store listing and in-app
  • Operate, secure, debug, and improve the app

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

4. Subprocessors

We share data only with the infrastructure providers required to run the service:

Subprocessor Purpose Location
Shopify Source platform / app hosting framework Global
Amazon Web Services (AWS Lightsail) App hosting & PostgreSQL database United States (us-east-1)
Resend Weekly email report delivery (Pro) United States

5. Data location & retention

  • Data is stored in the United States (AWS us-east-1).
  • 404 hit logs are purged after 30 days (Free plan) / 365 days (Pro plan).
  • Rules, settings, and detected records are retained while the app is installed.
  • On uninstall, your data is deleted in response to Shopify’s app/uninstalled and shop/redact webhooks (the latter typically within 48 hours, per Shopify policy).

6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA) & Shopify mandatory webhooks

RedirectGuard implements Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks:

  • customers/data_request — respond to a shopper data request
  • customers/redact — delete shopper data on request
  • shop/redact — delete all store data after uninstall

Because RedirectGuard does not store shopper personal identifiers, customers/* requests return no personal data. To exercise any right or request deletion, contact us (Section 8).

7. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and stored in a managed database with access restricted to the application. We follow least-privilege access and RedirectGuard requests only the Shopify scopes it needs.

8. Contact

Questions or requests: app.support@effective-inc.com effective Inc. (株式会社effective), Japan. A postal address is available on request.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by in-app notice.
